Played 18 Saturday at Timber Pointe in Poplar Grove, Illinois.

First hole was about 420 and straight. Hit my drive well, on the green in 2, then 2 putted for a par and it was downhill from there.

Not too bad for the first time out in 6 months though.

Congradulation Map. Glad to hear you finally got out and played. Any word on when you will be coming this way this year?

Went out yesterday to try a couple of things.
New grips
- i have 3 clubs with different grips to see which ones I like. the other irons have the stock grips. So when i changed irons, I had to change my grip (stock grips to small for me).
result is I picked the new grips. they will be installed tomorrow.

- I had a couple of 3 woods i was demoing.
- Big Bertha - faded it of the tee everytime. Once off the deck was a slice.
- Tour Edge (this year's model) - to much of a draw to almost a hook of the tee and deck.
result is that I'll go back and demo the Calaway x Hot 3 wd and last yrs Tour Edge ( i did prety good with them on a simulator)

I was evaluating an item that sets the tee at the same height every time.
Here's the details , http://www.proteegolfer.com/Features.html
That looks like the actual size of it and it is very light.
Once I got the hang of it, it did exactly as advertised. I didnt try a broken tee for say a par 3.

I walked by myself and hit 2 balls of the tee. One hole with the woods and the next with the different gripped irons. I was behind a foursome and I kept up so no-one complained.
Tried some punch shots and some hook shots.
All around a good day to eval 3 grips, 2 woods and a tee item.

heh.
I have to write my eval and mail it back.

Late friday I received my latest hybrid by way of UPS. Sat. I had the grip changed and then sun. afternoon gave it a try. It is a Cleveland Halo 31* to take the place of my 6 iron. Played nine holes, sometimes hitting two balls sometimes hitting 3. I must have used the new club 25 to 30 times as I was using it off the tee as well as the fairway. I finally have a club in my bag that I go to with complete confidence from 155 to 165 yards. WOW. Today, played in our monday seniors scramble. Our super senior who got to hit from the forward tee kept us in the fairway close enough where I was not able to use the new hybrid, bummers.

Played yesterday, Our course was still quite damp in spots, they still have the layout messed up because of work being done. So we still have 5 par threes on the back and one on the front. Par is currently 61. That being said, yesterdays round was an exercise in inconsistence. I hit 10 of 12 fairways, 6 of 18 greens (3 of those par3s), was 9 over on the front with 22 putts, 4 over on the back with 12 putts. I might add that other than ball marks, that dumb shits don't repair our greens are in great shape, so I can't blame the greens for the bad putting on the front. I guess I could have said I shot a 75 and left it at that but then somebody might not believe me, or worse yet might want strokes when we play in May.

I finally got to play nine today, that is all I had time for. It my first time on a course since October, and my first round since I had brain surgery in December.

I was nuking my irons and flew the green about 4 times. Still scrambled for a 39. I was just happy to be there, the score was not important. But I felt like I was striking the ball well. I had never played the course before, so I couldn't tell if it was me or poor yardages.

Really, just glad to play again. The forecast is for snow flurries in Cincinnati this weekend. Sad

Had no plans to play today, but woke up pain free in my back and after going to the doctor this morning for my check up, I decided what the hell. I grabbed my clubs and made a tee time at The Bluff Golf Links, just outside of Pinehurst. First tee, smashed right down the middle 275. 2nd tee a 305 to the middle of the green, I smashed another 265 down the middle for a par. Wont bore you with the rest but I shot a 79, hit 14 out of 14 fairways and 6 GIRS and 28 putts. What a beautiful day on the course.

Steven, great round, well done!

WhahWah, how `bout them Reds! 2 outta 3 from the BrewCrew, quality stuff!

I called off work today, had errands to take care of visited my f-i-l in the hospital then got in 9 holes with the pastor. It was mostly a practice round, mostly to test out the bad finger (sigh). The driver wasn't working, long irons were only fair but I had an excellent day with the wedges and (new) putter. 18 (we played to back 9) is a par 5. I hit fairway, but not as long as I like, hit 3 wood clean, but caught a tree branch so I had to hit a wedge shot over a tall tree to hit the green, best wedge shot of the day, pin hit but on the edge of the green skirt, so the ball was right against some long thick grass. I still used my putter, swung down a bit, center cut the hole for birdie. That's the stuff that keeps calling us back.

The Reds look very good this year. I am excited about the pitching staff. They are going to take out the Cubs next week too. I really think they Could win the division if they stay healthy.

Thought about going and plaing today, but was very cloudy and windy. Good thing I went to the range instead, started to rain as I walked back in the door.
